The kids and I took a walk down the road to the bridge going over a small ditch that is normally dry. But with 2" of rain earlier in the week, there was a lot of water flowing down it. The kids had a ton of fun and were entertained for nearly an hour (until I made them go home), then even brought Daddy back in the evening! They threw all kinds of things in the water, seeing which ones floated, which ones sank, watching things float away or seeing them get stuck on weeds or branches, etc, etc... It was also great fun to throw something in the water on the south side of the road and then watch it come out the north side! Fun to see the kids so entertained by nature - imagine how much fun they would have had if I had actually let them play IN the water:)
