We decided to let Ava have a "kids party" this year in addition to just having family over for supper, etc. So she was even more excited than normal for her party this year! And I wasn't totally prepared for what to expect with a bunch of 5 year old little girls for a birthday party, but I soon found out:) They had a GREAT time, but they had A LOT of energy!!!!
Ava was prepared for her rainbow unicorn party here. Not only did she have her face painted with rainbows and a unicorn, but she had to wear her unicorn shirt and even her unicorn undies - to be "all unicorned up" for her party!
The kids enjoyed push up cake pops in rainbow colors that my mom made for the party.
It was also handy to have a clown Grandma willing to paint faces for the party. The kids loved having their faces painted up all cute - some butterflies, princesses and unicorns! And Blaine was thrilled with his "fire"!
Here is the crew of girls enjoying the party with their newly painted faces.
And Ava insisted that we had to have a pinata. I happened to find an Easter egg pinata on clearance and decided that it wasn't work making one for $2! I did let the kids put unicorns on it so that it looked a bit more partyish, but they really didn't care what it actually looked like on the outside. They just loved scrambling for all the prizes and candy inside:)
Mom did a great job on the cake for supper too - very colorful with a very cute unicorn.

And Ava and Lauren even provided us with a fashion show for our evening entertainment:)
All in all, it was a fun day and a great party. I think that she is already planning her next birthday party!
