It also just so happened that Rick only had one round left in the small area that he was cutting, so we helped him take stuff back home too. Blaine assured him that he knew how to take the bean head off - after all, he takes the head off of his combines all the time and it can't be all that much different, right?! After loaded the head on the trailer, John drove the combine back, Rick drove the grain truck and head trailer and I took the Ranger. Of course, both kids had to pile in the grain truck with Rick - they love him to pieces! I think that they are ready to help him some more already:)

It's Harvest Time
And that means that we don't see John quite as much as normal. It broke my heart last Sunday when John headed out to work and Ava started sobbing as he drove out the driveway. She was already missing Daddy and wondering why he had to go to work and why he couldn't go to church with us. But he tries to be home as much as he can, or to incorporate the kids into parts deliveries or so on and that helps make the busy seasons more bearable. Tonight, John had a part delivery to our neighbor, Rick. So we all hopped on the Ranger after supper to take Rick his combine part in the field. Of course, the kids also had to ride in the combine, so they both loaded up and were all smiles to help Rick!
