- For instance, tonight as we were rocking before bed, he starts talking about "RickGlenda" (the neighbors have almost become one entity for him now), "planter", "toolshed", "drive tractor" and I got that he was talking about when he helped Rick drive the tractor to back the planter into our toolshed - back in August! Then he proceeded to talk about "pumpkin", "both", "Daddy's baffroom", "power tools", "choo choo", "Ah-va princess". I realized that he was talking about carving our Halloween pumpkins a couple of months ago - if you remember, Daddy had to use power tools to carve his Thomas the Train and then we lit them up in Daddy's bathroom. What random stuff little kids remember! For some reason, I am listening to him talk about manure spreaders as he jabbers in his bed tonight - go figure??
- I also love to listen to him pray. At any random time, he may all of a sudden want to pray. He folds his hands nicely and says "Dear God", then usually "tant (thank) you", but then often he says "IGA". I haven't figured out if he gets that from when we often say "Thank you for this day" when we pray or if he really is thankful for our IGA grocery store (it may actually be the latter since they give him suckers at IGA:) ). Then somewhere in there he gets "Jeshus", then "Amen" followed by a big fireworks display with his hands and a "hurray!" Actually, when I think about it, maybe I should take some lessons in prayer from my 1 yr old son - pray at any time you feel like it and rejoice that we can pray to God!
- Another favorite is watching him do something well and then listening to him tell himself "good job Blaine!"
- I also love it when he tells himself "pachient" often - he has obviously been told to be patient a lot! So now he often beats me to it - saying "pachient" as we get in the check-out line at the grocery store since he knows he has to wait to ask the cashier for a sucker.
These are just a few examples of what I love listening to from my little man - but by far, one of my favorites is when he now tells me "wuv you Mommy" :)
