Cookies, Cookies and More Cookies!!!

The kids and I attended a cookie bake and swap at my Aunt's house today and WOW - I have never seen so many fresh baked cookies in one place in my entire life!  There were 11 of us that all showed up with a double batch of Christmas cookies.  I have seen some great-looking recipes for different cookies lately and pondered which ones I would take to this extravaganza, but, in the end, I yielded to my husband's taste.  He really wanted just plain old chocolate chip cookies, so I obliged and did that - at least I found some chocolate chips with red and green ones in them:)  So Blaine and I made our cookie dough Friday morning - I didn't actually end up with quite a full two batches after my little helper got done "helping" me.
I love it that my kids have some great-grandparents that they love to spend time with and do things with.  They were eager to help Grandma and Great-Grandma Bert cut out the sugar cookies (at least until the other kids came and they had others to play with).
Of course, we had to get some baby lovin' in today with Baby Carson!  Blaine snuggled up on the couch beside me when I was holding him to gently rub his back and hug him - so cute.  And Ava loved getting chances to hold him again.
All the cookie baking can sure wear a baby out though:)
All the kids with the finished products - it was awful hard to look at all those cookies without touching!!
And all the rest of us with our creations - Blaine obviously was giving into the urge to touch the cookies by this point:)  In total, we ended up making 1,553 cookies today in a 5 hour period!!!  The kids also loved the chance to take some of these delicious cookies to our neighbors tonight as well - may have to deliver some more to other people tomorrow so that I am not tempted to eat them all!
