It's Starting to Feel A Bit Like Christmas

It hasn't felt like December at all this weekend, but the calendar says it is and that means that we are well on our way to Christmas!  The beautiful weather resulted in a great Christmas parade yesterday.  The kids enjoyed seeing all the parade entries, particularly if they were throwing candy out:)  And being in a small town means that you see everyone you know standing along the parade route as well as participating in the parade.  This was the first parade that Blaine has really participated in, but he quickly caught on to the picking up candy routine.  When asked about the parade though, all he talks about is the "semi truck" - not the candy, firetrucks, horses, walking costumed characters, or even Santa.
We then went back to the fire station to see Santa and his elves.  I didn't think that Blaine really understood the Santa thing, but as he was walking up to him, he was telling him "tractor", so Santa quickly understood that Blaine would like a tractor for Christmas.  Ava asked him for a Doodle Bear.  When we went out to leave, we went over to see some other firetrucks outside, but then Blaine insisted he wanted to go back inside to see Santa again!  But we did convince him to go when we saw Santa coming out to leave too.  But then Ava was wondering why Santa was driving a minivan...  Must have been a rental??
John then went to Indy last night for an early flight to Orlando this morning to attend the John Deere Parts Expo.  Ava was missing him already this morning and requested a take this picture of the Christmas tree to send to him so that he can show it to one of the guys he is with. Blaine just tells people that Daddy went on an airplane ride.  I hope that the next few days go well with Daddy gone, but I know that I will be very glad to see him when he gets home Wednesday night!
