How Does God Get Your Attention?

Since John was working all weekend, the kids and I headed over to my parents for a full day of noodle making on Saturday.  The kids had a great time playing with their cousins all day and we were actually quite productive making noodles - especially considering that there were only 3 adults and 5 kids!  Since it was later Saturday when we finished the noodles, we spent the night and went to church with my parents on Sunday.  My parents attend a very small church with no nursery for little kids, so I try to keep Blaine entertained quietly in the pew with us.  The pastor was preaching from Exodus about Moses and the burning bush while Blaine was pulling toys out of the bag I had packed for the occasion.  As Pastor Barry rhetorically asked "How does God get your attention?" to the congregation, everyone was silent until we hear Blaine's small voice say "Hewwo!" as he is playing with a phone he found in the bag.  The congregation was then amused at the perfect timing of a toddler:)  If it were really only that easy!  Too bad God doesn't always call us up and say Hello to get our attention on something!
