Since yesterday was the start of Spring Break and John wasn't working, we told the kids we would take them to do something fun. I told them to think about what they might want to do and they decided that they wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese. We have avoided that place with the big mouse thus far, but they bring it up often. I told them that they would have to convince their Daddy, so after smothering him with hugs and kisses and lots of pleases, he agreed to take them there. Actually, it wasn't as bad as I had feared it might be, but the gal working there did tell us that it was much slower than normal for a Saturday morning.
The kids had tons of fun playing all the games though. This one quickly became one of Blaine's favorites - it was a skidsteer game and had lots of construction equipment - go figure:)Blaine decided that he did NOT like Chuck E. though. The huge mouse started roaming through the game area getting kids to follow him to the front to sing a song and get free tickets. We followed and Ava did a song with him, but Blaine wanted nothing to do with that. He didn't even like seeing the upright walking rat anywhere close and demanded I pick him up and hold him if Chuck E was around!
They also enjoyed playing in the clubhouse area with steps, tunnels and slides. They were occupied there for quite some time and came out very hot and sweaty.
We did decide to veto eating at Chuck E. Cheese and went next door to McCallister's Deli instead - much better in my mind! But the fun didn't stop there - we also made a trip to Rural King! Free popcorn as you go in the door and baby chicks and ducks to see:) After a few errands in Lafayette, we ended up going back to Grandma and Grandpa Woods' house and playing with Lilly and Bella, who were spending the weekend there. Lots more fun playing with cousins. All in all, a fun Spring Break trip! As I have mentioned before, my kids don't get out much so they have pretty low expectations and are therefore easily excited:)
