It has been a loooooong, cooooooold winter, but the calendar says that spring starts next week! I hope that Mother Nature is paying attention to the calendar! We did enjoy some spring temperatures this afternoon though. The kids and I took advantage of it to play outside - even though it was still very wet and windy. Not to mention muddy - very, very, muddy!!! This is my yard where a huge snow drift used to be - ugly and disgusting with so much mud. There was so much dirt that had blown on top of the snow this winter that we are left with an inch of mud on the grass, landscaping, patio, etc after the snow has melted.
The kids loved spending some time outside though. They played while I did some small jobs around the yard and house. They had to drag a lot of toys out to the play set - going on vacation I was told:) Then loading it all up when it was time to get ready to head back inside. After loading all the toys in the wagon, I noticed Ava rearranging them and then realized that she was making room for Blaine. So sweet to ensure she made room to pull her brother back to the house with all of the toys. This was not really an easy task to pull this load across the yard and mud, but she did it all by herself the whole way, even though she had to get behind and push at times.
Blaine got some mudding in with the Gator too - so much fun to zoom through all the puddles!
I was rather excited to see that some of my flowers are starting to poke through the ground!! Hopefully this really does mean spring is on the way. Now the fun part - see what these turn out to be since I don't remember for sure what I planted there:) Maybe some hyacinths?? Can you tell - I am very ready for spring here!!!!
