With all the recent rain, the worms have been all over the place lately. And my kids LOVE that! They started noticing them on the driveway at the babysitter's house and would have to spend a few minutes petting worms before I could get them in the house. Then the other morning, Ava mentioned that she not only wanted to pet the worms, she wanted pet worms. I told her I didn't think that was a great idea,but I guess she could ask Roxane when we got there if she wanted a pet worm in her house. Of course, I knew what that answer would be, so felt it was a pretty safe idea:) But then when I picked the kids up, they had not forgotten about pet worms and were bent on going on a worm search at home to find some pet worms. So, being the wonderful Mom that I am, I agreed to get them a container and let them catch some worms to put in it as pets. So I put the container of worms in the garage, but somehow, the ended up on my kitchen counter before I knew it. So I made a compromise and let them stay on the washing machine. I am kind of hoping that the worm fascination soon fades and these new pets can go back outside! But both kids were eager to pet their worms as soon as we got home tonight, and Ava even started naming them as she dug them out started playing with them...
