I am very thankful that our household has not been hit with flu (yet - hope it stays that way)! But Blaine has had an experience with a stomach bug. John and I both immediately wakened and jumped out of bed when the sound of puking woke us up Thursday night. And sure enough, Blaine and his bed was covered with puke - some extra-nasty smelling puke at that! I am soooooo thankful for my wonderful husband, who usually gets stuck cleaning up the pukey bed while I cuddle the puker when we have these episodes. I know of other guys that won't go near a pukey bed or kid. Anyway, after a bath and getting all the sheets, pillow, blankets and stuffed animals in the washing machine, Blaine went back to bed and we didn't hear from him again all night. But then Ava woke up telling me her tummy hurt and I was scared that we were in for a doozy of a day. Normally, I would just tell her to eat breakfast and get ready for preschool anyway and it would likely be fine by school time. However, I was a bit more scared and cautious this time so I made her stay home from school, which she didn't like at all!
Thankfully, both kids actually ended up feeling fine all day Friday - whew! Blaine did have some nasty poop that day and hasn't eaten all that well this weekend, but no more puking. And then he had some more really nasty poop again tonight. Boy, I am soooooooo glad though that he has gotten better at making it to the potty in time to poop! I would not want to be cleaning that stuff out of undies! And as I was sitting in the bathroom for 20 minutes waiting for him to poop as he looked at tractor magazines, I was really wondering how that much stinkiness could come out of such a cute little boy! But he seems to be proud of his stinky poop - pointing out the "stink" and enjoying making "more stink!" Such a guy already:)
