Shopping Trip

I am not a huge mall shopper, so we don't often go on shopping trips (no, groceries and Wal-mart don't count!), but Ava wanted to go birthday shopping with Daddy to find me a present for my upcoming birthday.  But then she really wanted all of us to go, so we all headed on our Saturday evening shopping trip.  After a Wal-mart stop (because you can't go into town without making a stop there), we made a stop at Target to get some Thomas the Train birthday paraphernalia for Blaine's upcoming birthday party.  By then, it was supper time and Ava begged for McDonald's, so we headed to the Golden Arches, then on to the mall.  Blaine and I had to go check out another store so Ava could do her shopping with Daddy secretly:).  After Blaine and I got back to our designated meeting spot, I was the really nice Mom and let him ride a toy.  Of course, Ava had to ride one too when she came out.  My oh my though, I remember that these kind of things were quarter rides, but inflation has apparently hit the mall kiddie rides too, so I had to shell out $0.75 per ride!  Oh well I guess, they enjoyed it and we seldom ever go to the mall - and have never let them ride one of these types of toys before, so once won't hurt I suppose.  What deprived children:)

But Ava did accomplish her mission and find me a present and was trying hard to not let me know what it is. Although, I have a pretty good idea anyway because her Daddy is not a very discreet gift shopper:)  Ava will keep the secret, but her Daddy always asked me too many specifics and gives away too many details to make most any gifts very secretive:)
