1 1/2 is a fun age - a very BUSY age, but fun. Fun to see Blaine learn and grow into his own personality - and to watch him make known what some of his favorite things are. Here is a picture of Blaine with a couple of his favorite people - Ava and Rick. He adores his sister - even though they do have some normal sibling squabbles at times. And our neighbor, Rick, is another favorite person. Both kids love Rick and Glenda, but especially Rick it seems - maybe because Rick is just a big kid at heart too:) We often end up stopping at Rick & Glenda's house when we are out for a walk or bike ride. And any time that we get near their house on a walk, bike ride, or in the car, Blaine starts saying "Rick, Rick" in a growly voice - cracks me up every time I hear him say it! So great to have such wonderful neighbors that have become like another set of grandparents to our kids!
Some of Blaine's most favorite things are trucks and tractors - the kid is obsessed! He carries around a John Deere toy tractor book all over the place. We had a near crisis last night when he was looking for it and I thought he left it at the sitter's. I made a call to John at work and asked him to please bring another one home - Daddy saved the day! I did actually find the old one in Blaine's jacket sleeve this morning, but now we at least have a spare tractor book. He always wants to read his Johnny Tractor board book at bedtime - and even had to sleep with it last night. I carefully removed it from his sleeping fingers last night, but had to give it back to him a couple of hours later when he woke up wanting it. He still had it in hand when he woke up this morning:) John introduced Blaine to his old toy truck collection in the basement a few days ago - talk about a kid in heaven! I took Blaine to the basement this morning and he immediately took me by the hand to drag me over to where Daddy's trucks were - first thing he had to get out to play with. Talk about a kid after his Daddy's own heart! I think that John is enjoying every bit of it - getting to play trucks and tractors again himself:)
