Just a couple of Easter pictures. We started the week before Easter by heading to an egg hunt in Rensselaer since Lauren was with us after a sleepover. We had never been to this egg hunt before but thought like it sounded like something fun to do for the afternoon. It was a bit chilly, but sunny. The eggs were all laid out on the ground in a relatively small area, so the kids had to be fast.
Blaine was a bit disappointed that he only got a half dozen or so eggs, but he did a great job. They had told parents to not go out with the 3-4 year olds, but nearly all of the parents did. So we tried to explain to him that he did it all by himself and most of the other kids had parents helping them. The girls found lots of eggs and shared some candy, so it was all good in the end. There were some special prize eggs in each group that contained a slip of paper indicating what prize they won - Lauren ended up with two of these eggs! She shared one with Ava so they both got a big prize basket and pictures taken for in the paper.
We went to the Remington egg hunt the following weekend and although I neglected to take any pictures, the kids had a great time. Blaine was happy that he found lots more eggs and he even had a winning ticket for one of the special prizes. Add these to the egg hunts that they had at each Grandma's house and these kids got a lot of egg hunting experience! They actually ended up hiding eggs for us adults to find at John's parents and we discovered that they have learned to become excellent hiders too! Nancy did text us 3 days later to show us that she finally found the last green egg that Blaine hid while she was mowing - after 5 adults had no luck finding it previously (and he forgot where he hid it).
We were at Mom and Dad's on Easter Sunday and I tried to get a decent picture of all of us all spiffed up. I recently got Blaine a new tie since he had been wanting a tie and he was excited to wear it for Easter - what a handsome dude! We even got all the grandkids to half-way be still for a group picture at church.
I didn't have quite as fancy of a picture with the Woods grandkids, but we did at least get all four of them in a picture. However, this is definitely not Blaine's Sunday best outfit here! He actually did look pretty nice in good jeans and a button-down shirt, but that was before he fell in the fish pond:) And we then realized that Grandma's selection of spare clothes has not been updated for a while since all we could find was a girls t-shirt and some mint green capris that were too small! This made for quite the outfit when coupled with his boots! The windy day helped his clothes dry out by the time we went home at least, but he was really stylin in the mean time:)
