"I petted a snake!"

Yesterday was the annual Purdue Springfest and I considered going if it wasn't raining. Well, it wasn't raining in the morning and I happened to mention it to Ava and she got excited about going.  But by the time Blaine's nap was over, it was raining and I wasn't so sure I wanted to parade around campus in the rain.  But I had made the mistake of already telling Ava and she of course, wanted to go rain or not.  So we went!  And we did actually have a good time and the rain wasn't too bad - mostly a heavy sprinkle.

We visited a few Springfest sites and Ava's highlights including petting and holding all the critters.  Of course, there were the cute, fuzzy farm animals that she saw.  But the things she talked about later included petting a snake, tarantula, hornworm, giant hissing cockroach, giant millipede, beetle, sea urchin and horshoe crab.  She made a point of calling to tell both Grandma's last night that "She petted a snake!" - as well as all those other fun things that neither Grandma thought sounded all that appealing.  By the way - I was also just a spectator in most of these critter petting and holding events:)  Blaine was intrigued to look at all these things, but wasn't eager to touch them.
