Easter Egg Hunts

We have been celebrating Easter this weekend, as most of the rest of you are too I am sure.  I took Ava and her friend Lauren to the town Easter Egg Hunt yesterday morning and they had so much fun.  They both get very excited when they are together and then add in the anticipation of an egg hunt, and I had two wound up girls on my hands!  They did have a lot of fun finding eggs and getting prizes though.

We alsoran across their friend and preschool classmate Grace and her little brother at the egg hunt, so here they all are with their egg finds:)
My parents also came over Saturday and Grandma had an Easter Egg hunt for Ava and Blaine too.  Blaine loved all the "balls" that he found:)  Blaine is a little ball nut, so anything round at all he gets excited about and says "ba!"
Ava found lots of eggs too and probably her most prized find was the egg with a whoopie cushion in it!  After some lessons by Grandpa on how to use it and how to be sneaky about it to play tricks on people, she has been using it constantly!!!  She hasn't totally gotten the sneaky part down yet, as she will tell you exactly where to sit after she puts it somewhere though.  She did get John last night though - we knew that she took it to our bed, even though she replied she put it "nowhere" but warned John that he would be tooting in bed tonight:)  However, John of course forgot about this until he laid down on our bed last night!  I laughed a lot about that one and Ava was totally tickled about it when I told her this morning:)
For Easter today, we are actually enjoying a nice morning worshipping at our church to celebrate the real reason for Easter, then spending the rest of the day with just our family around home.  We decided not to try and make the weekend more hectic by travelling to get together with all my Mom's family.  I do enjoy seeing some extended family, but we decided that our priority this year would be to just be together as an immediate family.

I hope that all of you have a very happy Easter and remember the true meaning of the season and thank God for giving Christ to us so that all our sins may be forgiven and we may have eternal life in heaven with Him!
