Carnival!

We learned that the school PTO puts on an annual carnival, so we decided to check it out.  Needless to say, Ava was super excited to go and had a fun time.  She was still all wound up at bedtime and took quite a while to fall asleep.  There were tons of games and activities for the kids to do and she met up with several friends from preschool there. 

Here she and Marek carefully decide which colors of candy to pick to fill their tubes - just a small sampling of the candy and small toys that we came home with:)

 Ava and Lauren decided to have the clowns paint their faces - Ava got a beach ball and Lauren got an eye painted on their faces.

Although I did at least take my camera, I forgot to get it out most of the time since I was also juggling a bag full of prizes and her tickets.  She spent 75 tickets playing all kinds of games.  I am sure that this is a great fundraiser for the school - there were lots of kids there playing games and also lots of great prizes that were raffled off. 
Although Blaine was still not feeling 100%, we decided to take him just to get him out a bit.  But he spent most of the carnival time driving around the coutryside with John since he fell asleep right before we got to the school.  After the guys did get there, he enjoyed seeing all that was going on, but kept wanting to get the balls.  He LOVES balls of all kinds and says "ba" repeatedly when he sees or wants one - balloons are included in his ball family and there were lots of those there for him to want!
I am sure that this is the first of many school carnivals for us since we will have several years in school with the kids!
