What We've Been Up To...

I realized that it has been a couple of weeks since I last blogged, so thought I would catch up a bit.  Not too much going on around here.  We did have a very nice Thanksgiving - both of our families came to our house Friday, which made it really nice for us.  No travelling, worrying about nap times, etc.  And we had lots of fun.  Obviously Blaine was having fun riding in his dump truck here:)
And John got me an elliptical for an early Christmas present - Ava loves to use it too!  Now I just need to get in the habit of actually using it more-especially with the holiday eating season among us!!
After our Thanksgiving feast, Mom and I went shopping all day Saturday while Dad and John watched the kids.  I am sure that Grandpa learned a lot hanging out with Ava all day - they were busy playing Candy Land when we came home.  And I was really impressed that I got nearly all my Christmas shopping done!

We got our tree up yesterday - Ava enjoyed helping with the ornaments, although all the matching ones all had to hang on the same branch.  She was thrilled to be able to put the angel on top though - with a boost from Daddy.  Blaine was of course very intrigued by this big tree that magically sprouted in our living room while he was napping!  Now to keep him out of it for the next month!  I thought that I would get a cute picture of the kids with the tree and their Christmas jammies last night, but they weren't all that cooperative.
I got the stockings hung and some other Christmas decorations out too.  Mom has made all of our stockings, but doesn't have Blaine's done yet.  Ava was a bit concerned about this, but says she will share hers with Blaine - so sweet.  She was also very concerned about making sure that Allie had a stocking hung up too - so the dog currently has a stocking hanging in Blaine's spot.

So that basically recaps our Thanksgiving Holiday weekend - so nice to have John around for 4 days in a row since he took Friday and Saturday off work.  Now looking forward to Christmas.  Hopefully we can all remember the true meaning of this season and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
