Where is Summer Going?

Summer seems to be disappearing fast!  It is already time for school to start around here soon.  And Ava will be starting preschool in a few weeks!  How did that happen?!?!  We went backpack shopping yesterday after Blaine's 6 month check-up.  Ava was very excited about backpack shopping and it took quite a long time to make a decision about which backpack she wanted.  She finally ended up picking one with rollers so she could drag it as well as wear it and liked the one with Kai-Lan on it (I didn't even know who this was...).  Then we ate at McDonald's, so a happy day for a 3 year old!  Blaine had a good check-up too - continuing to grow well and has moved off the growth chart on length!  Anyway, just thought I would share a couple of pictures since it has been a while since I posted.

 We were finding locust shells last night - Ava loves them.  Most of them had fallen off of her shirt by the time I took this picture, but she had about a dozen of them on there originally.  She was even carrying her stick around to knock them off the tree when she couldn't reach them.
