One Big Project Tackled!!!

Our old barn has needed some work for some time now. Last summer, we thought we would get some metal and reside the old, rotten wood-sided barn ourselves. Well, obviously, that plan failed! So this summer, I convinced John that we needed to just hire it done so that it gets done in a timely manner and is done right. So we did! We had it resided, put some windows in it, added a walk-in door and a garage door in the front and basically made it look like a new barn. Then we decided that we would tackle the roof painting job ourselves (after we had it re-screwed down). So this is how we spent our Saturday...

Our neighbor happens to have an old fire truck that we used to reach the roof. Here, John is actually holding and controlling the rope with the guy on the other end screwing the roof down.
The supervisory crew :)

Let the painting begin! John spent all afternoon on his belly on the firetruck ladder with a paint sprayer in his hands. All the while, my Dad moved the ladder around so that he could reach all the roof. And John's Dad was in charge of telling him the spots he missed:)
So this is the finished project! I don't have a "before" picture, but for those of you that remember the old barn, this is a drastic improvement! Glad to have this project completed. Now to just finish revamping the dog pen on the inside and get the wiring and electrical work done...
