We didn't have any special plans for Father's Day, but decided to combine a little fun and function with a trip to Lafayette this afternoon. After grocery shopping, we got a Papa John's pizza (John's favorite, but he doesn't get it often since there isn't one real close) and took it to the park to eat supper. Then some fun time playing at the park and the Columbian Park Zoo.
Of course, one of the favorite parts was the water fountains and sculptures! Needless to say, Blaine didn't stay dry long and viewed the rest of the zoo in soggy clothes, then rode home naked with his wet clothes tossed in the back:)
Ava asked us on the way home what our favorite part was. Then proceeded to tell us that her most favorite "silly" part was the monkey pooping out the door! John agreed with her that that was one of his most favorite silly parts too. Not a good picture here, but we did laugh at the monkey as he backed up with his butt hanging out the door to let out a good poop outside without leaving the comforts of home. Ava was asking me about the monkey pooping outside of his house again when I was tucking her in even - obviously left quite an impression on her!
My silly girl in the butterfly house.
Blaine loved all the animals too. It cracks me up watching him hug all the animals - he does this to every animal he meets! He was even hugging the animal statues at the zoo. At least he does share his love and give plenty of hugs for sissy, mommy and daddy too. But he had hugs for the horse and goats here.I think that we wore the kiddos out well! Ava claimed that she was so tired that she convinced Daddy to carry her back to the vehicle. And Blaine didn't complain taking a stroller ride back to the vehicle either. And both were out like a light shortly after putting them in bed! All in all, nothing fancy, but a nice Father's Day for us. Hope the rest of you had a great Father's Day as well and had a chance to honor your Father in your own way.
