My annual American Association of Swine Veterinarians meeting/conference was recently held in Denver. This is always a great meeting -I am able to learn all the most recent reseach in the pig vet world as well as see all of my pig vet friends and colleagues that I often only see once a year. John has went with me several times, so he also has gotten to know a lot of my colleagues as well as their spouses. This year did not disappoint - I learned a lot and got to catch up with many friends. Although I was busy with meetings and educational sessions, John go to enjoy some more fun times in the Denver area. The weather was fabulous, around 60-70oF the whole time we were there. And then we came back to summer-type temps in IN, which has been even better!
John took a day and went to Breckenridge to go snowmobiling. He had a great time sledding in the mountains. It was in the 40's there, so good weather, although the snow was starting to get a bit slushy in places.
He also took another day to visit the Coors Brewing Company plant in Golden, Colorado. They had a good tour and samples throughout the tour as well. He was joined on this adventure by another husband of a pig vet from North Carolina. They both seemed to enjoy the tour and the samples!
All in all, it was a great trip for both of us. And the kids had a vacation of their own staying at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
