Catching Up...

I know that I haven't posted a lot recently, so consider this a catch up on what we have been up to since the beginning of the new year.  It is hard to believe that my baby boy will be one year old in a couple of weeks!  he is growing up into such a little man so fast.  He has started walking and gets better every day.  He has 8 teeth and looks like a couple more coming soon.  And he LOVES to eat - and will outeat Ava most meals!  Here is a picture of my little man checking out Daddy's calendar... thanks to my in-laws for this Christmas gift...

 Ava and Blaine got a new spinning, hoppy teeter-totter for Christmas and we put it together in the basement.  They love it!  Ava likes having a big toy to play on with her brother and Blaine never wants to get off.  Actually, he usually screams and hangs on for dear life when you try to take him off.

 And John and I went out for a "date" to his work Christmas party last weekend and my parents came over to watch the kids.  Of course, Ava was thrilled to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa.  She even got Grandpa to finger paint with her.

We also went swimming at the open pool time at the high school this week and had a great time.  Blaine loved splashing and playing in the water, as did Ava.  She even went off the diving board several times - I think that there was a little peer pressure here since her friend Lauren was also there and had no fear of jumping off.  Regardless, she did a great job and we will likely try to make it back for open swim more weeks this winter for some good cheap fun and exercise.
