I know that it is so very true that you never know what is going to come out of the mouth of a kid and Ava is no exception. She amuses us often with what she says and comes up with from her 2 1/2 year old mind. Lately, she has been very attentive to baby brother in my tummy. We were having the discussion recently that baby brother is growing and making my belly so big. After this, she porceeds to go around behind me, touch my butt and comment that "Baby brother make your butt big too." Just what a 9 month pregnant women needs to hear!?!?!
I had also taken her along to an appt with my OB a while back. At this particular appointment, they did a routine vaginal culture. I didn't think a lot about it and she never made any comments about it to me. However, a couple of days later as John was helping her go pee, she tells him that "Mommy take her pants off at the Dr office" and then she went further to tell him that "They stick something in Mommy's butt." John assured her that they were checking on baby brother as he was silently praying that the discussion didn't go much further than that! He wasn't sure he wanted to explain how baby brother was going to come out of mommy's tummy or especially how he got in there if they were checking on him via my butt! Thankfully, I don't know that she has shared these observations with anyone else - they may really wonder what I expose her to and what in the world she was talking about!
