Weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's!!!!
What a beautiful Memorial Day weekend!!!! However, since it was so nice out, John ended up working a lot this weekend. So Ava and I decided to go visit my parents. Ava did not want to come home! I just thought I would share some pictures from our visit. We had a lot of fun with Grandma & Grandpa's pond - swimming, playing in the sand, feeding the fish, catching and petting the little fish, watching the ducks and frogs, and lots more. We also enjoyed an afternoon of swimming at my grandparents' pool with some other friends and family. Then Monday, we went to watch my cousin play baseball in a high school sectional game. The game was good, but then was rained out and we got SOAKED!!! Thankfully, we had some dry clothes since we were packed to go home from the weekend - so we both changed in the car. I was so wet that I really didn't care if there were other people in the parking lot to watch me change clothes in the front seat - I needed some dry clothes! Anyway, we had a great time, but it was good to get home and see Daddy again!
They have a really nice beach at the pond and Ava spent a lot of time playing in the sand.
The other Carroll cousins also came to swim and play with us - we ended up with a hammock full!
Grandpa was planting his garden and Ava enjoyed helping him water the plants that he planted.
The pond is only a year old, so Dad still feeds all of his fish to get it stocked up well to go fishing in it some day. This is always a favorite activity of all the grandkids - they love to throw the fish food and watch the hundreds of little fish, as well as a few big ones, come up to eat.
I caught some of the little fish while they were eating and put them in a bucket for Ava to see. She loved catching them and letting them flop around in her hand. I know for sure that Ava is not going to be afraid of much at all and is definitely not a "girly" girl:) She loves fish, worms, bugs and all that stuff!
