We have been busy the past couple of weeks rearranging and redecorating rooms. We needed to move Ava into a new room so that the baby can have the nursery. But her new room was our office, so first the computer and office stuff had to be moved to our bedroom. Before that though, we had to move some stuff from our bedroom and the office downstairs. So basically, we played musical furniture with most of the rooms in our house! But here are some pictures of the final projects!
Ava has insisted for the past couple of months that she wanted an orange room - so orange is what she got! I wasn't sure I could go for all four walls the bright orange she liked best, so we went with a combo of light and dark orange and she loves it! She also loves the polka dots on her bedspread, sheets and curtains. Maybe we will eventually do some polka dot stickers on the wall or something too. She is absolutely in love with her now room and slept in her new big girl bed last night. It did take a while for her to fall asleep and she was up early, but hopefully the newness and excitement about the new room wears off and she sleeps her normal hours again!
We got a new corner desk for our bedroom to make the move of the office. This also led to getting a new flat panel TV to fit on top of the filing cabinet too. But I am really pleased with the outcome. And no, I don't even mind all the John Deere toys in my room now :)
The basement wasn't originally part of our redecorating plan, but since we were moving some extra furniture down there, we also got a carpet remnant and made a little nicer play/family area downstairs just outside of the spare bedroom. All in all, it has been a busy couple of weeks to accomplish all this, but I am very happy with the outcomes in all rooms! And now baby boy will have a room too!
